November 2018 Update
Well its November already and only 6 weeks before
the end of year and we can enjoy some time with
family and friends using the boats we build!
There have been plenty of things going on in the
workshop and still a few boats to get out before
I have just got back from dropping Logan's latest
Riverwild 480 off to our upholster for its rear seat
and road cover. This boat has come up great
and it's modified LS1 Chev and close coupled
Hamilton 212 will be a great package for this
Logan has now started the next Riverwild 480 for a
client in Te Anau and this is coming together nicely.
This package is getting the latest direct injected
LS3 Marine Power engine fitted with a Scott 852
jet unit on one of our tandem trailers. Plenty of work
to do before we try and get this out the door in time
Mark has been busy completing another Riverwild 480 for a client here in Gore. This package will be running the clients SBC/ZZ4 engine from his previous boat and a close coupled Hamilton 212.
JP is still completing the final touches on the Shotover Jet (T12) commercial tour boat and we hope to get this out the door in the next 10 days. This will be then delivered to their Queenstown base along with the two new beach trailers we have manufactured. T11 which we delivered 8 weeks ago is now with the team at Vincent's in Alexandra having its panel, paint and upholstery done.
Elizabeth is busy fitting out the first of two Highlander 470 packages we have to complete in the next 6 weeks. Our fiberglass top decked Highlander has had an internal facelift in the dash area to modernize and incorporate a step into it and these two hulls will be the first of four orders in the next few months for this model.
Elliot has just finished rebuilding a Riverwild 480 that was in for an insurance job after a mishap on the Hollyford river. After delta, side and bearer repairs along with a new bisplate this boat is ready to send out. He has almost completed the full fit out of a new East Coast Jet for a client with only the trailer to get sorted before delivery.
We have another couple of insurance jobs lined up and along with the other general maintenance and servicing we undertake, that side of the workshop is just about full up for the year!
If your in the market for engines, give me a call we have just landed 2x 6LVVT Kodiak engines with only 150hrs at a good price! We also have a new CT525/LS3 on the floor if your wanting to upgrade that tired SBC!
We are still looking to fill a spot in the workshop building and fitting out our range of KeelowCraft's so if you think this is you or you know someone looking for a change please contact me. I managed to get away on Sunday on the Southland JBNZ Mataura/Waikaia river run. Shame about the weather leading up to this as we only had four boats but those that turned up had a great day with only a quick shower passing by about five minutes from the trailers on the way home.
This weekend we are heading to Christchurch with our latest Riverwild 480 that I delivered last month to Geoff and Margaret McPhee. The Canterbury JBNZ branch is celebrating their 50th anniversary so we thought it would be a good chance to get our latest boat out and about on the Waimak river with these clients.
The NZ Jet Boat Marathon finished last week and congratulations to John Derry, Nick Smith and Team U36 on there win and another NZ1 title.
We couldn't be there but we had Callum McKenzie flying the KeelowCraft flag and he had a strong finish with second in CX class. Well done mate.
Until next month, safe boating.
